Our Curriculum

All classes use the STREAMin3 curriculum, approved by and aligned with the Virginia Department of Education.  Through child-led activities, routines, and interactions, STREAMin3 provides an integrated focus on academic and social-emotional skills with a scope and sequence that spans from birth to age five.

To prepare all children for kindergarten, and in response to state law, Virginia has developed the Unified Virginia Quality Birth to Five System (VQB5) to measure and improve the quality of all publicly-funded birth-to-five classrooms and support families to choose quality programming across all types of programs. Yellow Brick Road’s infant and toddler classes have received honor roll distinction from VQB5, placing us in the top 10% of the state,  an achievement that reflects a deep commitment to fostering high-quality, developmentally supportive environments for Virginia’s youngest learners.  This distinction is awarded to programs that demonstrate exemplary interactions performance with infants and toddlers, as measured through CLASS® (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) observations.
